The care-for-rare foundation was created to help children with rare diseases. Care-for-rare wants to enable rapid access to state-of-the-art medical care, including modern genetic diagnosis and innovative therapies.

Care-for-rare collaborates with a vast international network of physicians and scientists. Currently, care-for-rare has a focus on inborn diseases of the blood and immune system.

Care-for-rare supports research activities to achieve general insights into disease mechanisms. This knowledge, generated by interdisciplinary scientific activities, will not only serve patients with rare diseases but will also contribute to a better understanding of common diseases and to the development of innovative therapies. Thus, care-for-rare supports all aspects of translational research – from discovery to cure.
